After many centuries of turmoil, Japan would be unified in the late 1500s by three military leaders. The first of these leaders was Oda Nobunaga.
Nobunaga’s dream was to unite all of Japan under one sword. He worked hard to gain the loyalty of many of the Daimyos throughout Japan. In 1568, he led his armies against the capital city of Kyoto.
Before Oda Nobunaga could complete the unification of Japan, he was murdered by one of his soldiers in 1582.
