The Three Kingdoms Period

The Three Kingdoms Period

After obtaining their independence from China in 220 A.D., the Koreans eventually formed themselves into three separate kingdoms. These kingdoms were known as Silla, Paekche and Koguryo. From 313 A.D. until 668 A.D., these three kingdoms would rule the Korean Peninsula. Then, in 668 A.D., the Kingdom of Silla conquered the other two kingdoms, uniting all of Korea under a single government.
